Neel Soni

Neel Soni is a filmmaker, conservationist, and photographer based in New Delhi, India.

A graduate of Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, Neel's work is rooted in a deep commitment to storytelling that bridges the worlds of cinema, nature, and culture.

His BAFTA nominated debut documentary Babli by Night—a project developed over four years—demonstrates his passion for socially conscious storytelling and immersive, observational filmmaking.

Neel's creative journey spans across documentary, narrative, and fashion filmmaking, reflecting a dynamic and multidisciplinary approach.

He has directed campaigns for fashion labels including RKIVE City's Milan Fashion Week digital presentation, Quod New York, Outbreak Labs and Mirchi, as well as a fashion film for FDCI Virtual Week.

His work as a director merges aesthetics with purpose, often exploring themes of identity, community, and sustainability.

He has also worked in production roles across international sets—from Netflix's Outer Banks to commercials for Tanishq Jewellery directed by Mira Nair, and as a director's assistant to acclaimed names like Chris Long, Bharat Sikka, and Misha Calvert.

His experience includes commercial, narrative, and branded content for clients such as Indigo Airlines, Tom Ford, and Park Avenue.

In addition to filmmaking, Neel is the author of A Walk on The Wildside, a wildlife photo book launched at the Jaipur Literature Festival.

His ongoing work in conservation and visual storytelling aims to inspire empathy and action through compelling cinematic experiences.
